The Jamestown Colony Homeowners Association would like to thank everyone for the
wonderful holiday decorations that adorned our neighborhood. There were many creative and
beautifully decorated homes in our community and many of those in our neighborhood were
among the best of them.
Judging for Yard of the Month is performed by board members representing each Section of
our neighborhood the first week of each month (for the previous month) from the month of
April through December. January through March are excluded due to the winter season.
Judging is based on specific criteria including but not necessarily limited to:
1) General Appearance (Design & Consistency)
2) Landscaping (Design, Color and Health)
3) Lawn (Health, Cut, Color, Trim and Evenness)
While there are cleary standouts in the community that demonstrate consistency on a month to
month basis in all judged areas, YOTM can only be awarded to the same resident for two
consecutive months. These rules do not apply to the annual holiday decoration judging from
year to year.
Our Holiday decorating judging will be performed on December 17, 2011. This year,
homes across each Section (I, II and III) of the community will be judged. The first place
home will be awarded a $100.00 gift certificate; the second place home will be awarded a
$50.00 gift certificate.
